A watermelon called Sydney…

So we have been here now for more than a week and we can tell you now more things about Sydney ! And i’ll tell you what, Sydney is nothing but a big watermelon… Yeah I know it sounds a bit weird when it is said like that but i’m sure you’ll understand soon (and I had no idea for the title…If you don’t like it you can complain to Fay).

So when you go to Sydney see people, don’t expect staying in the same place all the time ! You’ll hear some Enmore, Newtown, Bondi, Maroubra, SurryHills, Bronte, Glebe… Sydney is big ! Like a watermelon (easy comparaison you’d say) But ! A watermelon is better when you stuff with some extra like vodka, juices, etc. And this is what we’ve done ! We have been such good people, I’ll let you choose who’s the alcohol, juices, mint, whatever this big whatermelon got much more tasty with all that. Barbecue on a rooftop the first night watching the whole city from there with Julie, chilling on the beach, watching the Lion King 2 times and having 2 great christmas meals in Maroubra beach thanks to Becbec… Being capable to continue to live the same way in Bronte beach thanks to Gai and Tamtam. And finally, having a great time with Fay, Laura and Melissa in Glebe, watching Sydney from one of the best spot, having GREAT dinners, laying under the sun and playing volleyball… What else ? Ho yeah… Tomorrow is new years eve ! I think it will just be as good as all the things were before ! Booze, fireworks and partaaaaay !

Plus, our favorite German called Benjamin Buck found us a lift to go to Melbourne and a cheap way to go up to Adelaide ! So you see, Sydney could have been just another part of the trip, but those people stuffed our trip with all those stuff that will stay in our memories !

Donc cela fait maintenant 1 semaine que nous sommes a Sydney et s’il y a bien un truc que je pourrai vous dire maintenant, c’est que Sydney c’est comme une pasteque ! Ouai je sais… ca sonne un peu etrange la pour l’instant mais jvous assure que vous allez tout capter rapidement (et puis j’avais pas d’inspiration pour trouver un bon titre donc si vous aimez pas vous pouvez vous plaindre aupres de Fay).

Bon si un jour vous allez a Sydney, ne vous attendez pas a rester juste dans Sydney, tout le monde va vous parler de differents quartiers ou ils habitent ! Vous allez donc entendre parler de Enmore, de Newtown, SurryHills, Glebe, Darling Harbour et de Maroubra ! Sydney c’est donc tres grand… comme une pasteque ! Ouai bon la comparaison directe comme ca sonne un peu merdique mais vous allez voir apres ca va mieux sonner ! Mais une pasteque c’est mieux si vous la fourrez avec de l’alcool, des jus de fruits, etc. Et c’est ce que nous avons fait ! Bon je vous laisse choisir qui est les jus de fruits, qui est l’alcool dans les choses qui vont suivre ! Barbecue sur un toit le premier soir ou nous avons pu contempler la ville de nuit avec Julie. On s’est relaxe sur la plage, on a regarde le Roi Lion 2 foi, mange 2 tres bon repas pour noel a Maroubra grace a Becbec, on a pu poursuivre cette facon de vivre a Glebe grace a Gai et Tamtam ! Et puis enfin on a pu picniquer et regarder Sydney sous le soleil depuis l’un des meilleurs spots, se relaxer a cote de la piscine et manger 2 TRES bon repas avec Fay, Laura et Melissa. Donc voila on a truffe cette etape qui aurait pu etre juste une ville parmis tant d’autres avec tant de bon souvenirs… Maintenant on doit juste feter le nouvel an, alcool, feux d’artifices et fieeeeesta sont au programme ! Quoi d’autre !

En plus notre Allemand prefere nous a trouve un lift pour aller a Melbourne et une voiture pas chere pour aller jusqu’a Adelaide ! Donc tout est pour ainsi dire parfait !

Bon bah la on a des nouvelles a vous donner car ca fait bien longtemps que l’on ne vous a pas raconte notre vie !

Depuis la derniere fois nous sommes alles a rainbowbeach, big up a la dune qui surplombe la ville et sur laquelle vous pouvez admirer les lever et coucher de soleil, nous on a fait le coucher de soleil, on allait quand meme pas se lever tot pour ca… Nous nous sommes diriges ensuite vers Noosa, sur le chemin, nous avons du repondre a des requetes urgentes venant du peuple check du genre « nov I vant a McDouble »(ca c’est l’accent check) quelques arrets au McDo ont ete nécessaires pour remplir energiquement les estomacs a coups de « Mc Double », vous connaissez pas ? C’est un cheeseburger avec une piece de viande en +, appétissant non ? En plus ca coute moins de 2 dollars donc si vous voulez vous en foutre plein la gueule et le cul c’est limite open bar.

Noosa c’etait sympa, petite plage bondee mais pas trop, petite ville ensoleillée ou il fait bon de se detendre sur la plage et de sortir le soir… Nous sommes alles ensuite a Brisbane ou votre reporter prefere a deniche un nouvel objectif pour son appareil photo ! Maintenant je peux juste tout prendre en photo, TOUT ! Mouahahaha ! On y est reste 2 jours, suffisament assez longtemps pour se prendre une amende de 200dolls pour mauvais stationement et pour voir antoine essayer de grimper sur le toit du camping car et se ramasser la tronche sur le sol !

Voila maintenant on arrive a un des meilleurs spots de la cote est Australienne, Byron Bay. En soit c’est qu’une plage avec du sable, la mer et des vagues… une plage quoi !Mais l’ambiance la-bas est vraiment super et la balade autour du phare qui surplombe la ville vaut vraiment le detour ! En plus si vous y allez en fevrier vous pourrez y voir des balenes ! Nous on a vu que des dauphins…

Nous sommes maintenant a Sydney, sur le chemin nous nous sommes arretes aux blue-mountains ou nous avons vu de magnifiques paysages que vous allez decouvrir en a travers les photos ! Sydney c’est un peu la galere niveau hebergement, les backpack sont hors de prix et on a plus assez d’argent pour se les payer. Heureusement les amis sont la ! Grand merci a Julie, Tamara, Fay et Rebecca ! On est la jusqu’au nouvel an grace a vous !

Ok ok I apologies for all the times when you came on the blog and have seen no news !

So since the last time… We’ve been at RainbowBeach, a magnific and huge dune give you the chance to watch the sunrise or sunset, we did the sunset, come on ! Do you think we would be awake at 5-6am ? No waaaaaaay ! We went then to noosa, on the way we had to answer to some urgents requests from the check girls « Nov I just vant a McDouble ». What is a McDouble ? It’s a cheesburger with 2 pieces of meat, but only one of cheese and that details change everything, instead of costing more than 3$ it costs less than 2$ which sounds like an « open bar » for those guys, so you have the cheap opportunity to jam all that from your mouth to your ass !

Noosa was nice, a good place to hang out and to lie on the sand ! But it is nothing if you compare Noosa to Byron… Ah… not yet, before the upcoming « one of the best spots in Oz » we stopped in Brisbane for 2 days. Those 2 days were long enough to let your favorite photographer buy a new lens (now I can shoot everything) and to see Antoine trying to climb on the campervan may times !

Byron Bay was beautiful, it is just a beach so if in your mind you add sand+sea+waves you can guess how looks the beach. But now you have to add the Light House that overlooks the city, the lightblue water and the dolphins ! The city is made to have fun, so we did have fun, we went also on the top of a hill that gave us a wonderfull time watching shouting stars !

We’re now in Sydney, we went to the blue mountains on the way -> wonderfull, you’ll see the pictures soon !

Sydney is a bit difficult due to my bad organization and some missunderstandings… But hopefully friends are here and I thank Tamara, Fay, Rebecca and Julie for helping us ! You girls are Jeremie&Antoine’s angels ! And we can spend new years eve here because of you !

 

Nuages, nuages and sunshiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine ! Whitsundays… Fraser Ilsand !

Bon voilail fait enfin beau ! Mais pas tres chaud, genre 32 degres aujourd’hui seulement !

On est donc alle sur les whitsundays ! Quelques iles paradisiaques au large de Arlie Beac, du style sable blanc, eau turquoise et poissons de toutes les couleurs dans l’eau ! Une tres bonne journee en soit qui s’est ponctuee par 3 fois par quelques petites courses en bateau ou notre capitaine s’amusait a prendre les vagues avec son horboard jaune banane !

Bon on avait tout de meme envie de prolonger le plaisir alors on est alle sur Fraser Island a bord d’un 4×4 que l’on a loue pour cette excursion de deux jours ! Vous allez le voir sur les photos, Fraser Island c’est un graaand espace sauvage, de longues plages ou en + de croiser des touristes en 4×4, vous verrez des lacs magnifiques, des dunes splendides,  dunes enormes, bref ca fait deja pas mal de superlatifs ! Faut juste pas faire le con avec les meduses, ca brule ! On a teste !

La on est de retour a Hervey Bay ou c’est pas la folle ambiance, on se dirige vers rainbow beach ou a noosa on sait pas trop encore !

It’s shiny but not that hot here, only 32 degrees, so we’ve decided to go to the Whitsundays !

Maybe you would like a description of the withsundays ! How to describe…. hmm… ho yeah ! White sand, light blue water, thousand of fish of all the colors, sunshine… Is that alright ?! We had a so great day, laying on the sand, laughing, doing some jumps with the fast boat ! What else ?!

But we wanted to have more island and sun, so we went to Fraser Island we the 4WD we rented ! Fraser is a loooong island with a loooong beach where you can drive fast with your 4WD, look at the sea (where it is dangerous to swim because of the gellyfish… I tried…) swim and relax in the fantastics lakes… Pfiiiouuu ! We had a good time !

We’re back on Hervey Bay which is something else than fun, we’re heading south, Noosa ? Or Rainbow Coast maybe ! We’ll see !

Australie = german+rain

Bon ca y est ! Derniere etape ! L’australie, la grosse ile en bas a droite de la carte quoi, c’est pas malin de s’etre installe la les gars, jveu dire… On doit conduire au moins 100Km pour aller dans une autre ville (Note pour plus tard, visiter le benelux peut etre interessant) et donc on est obliger de prendre 6 semaines de vacances la-bas pendant que vous vous gelez les coui…. miches HAHAHAHAHA !

Nous sommes donc arrives a Cainrs le 23 Novembre et il nous a fallu 2 jours pour trouver une 4eme personne pour louer notre campingcar, nous avons donc fait des auditions, c’est qui l’patron ? 

La premiere etait une Americaine, une fille genre trop bien sappee, elle aurait pu jouer la pom-pom girl dans Heroes… On a donc du dire non gentillement… Et puis de toute maniere, nos gueules lui revenaient pas. De toute « maniere »… Pas mal l’enchainement (auto-satisfaction), le mec qu’on a ensuite auditionne est un francais, Benjamin MANIERE (ouai je sais j’ai la classe), on voulait pas trop un francais au debut, on est avec un allemand, pas cool d’avoir 3 francais pour lui… Et puis parler anglais ca immerge ! Au final nous sommes donc 3 francais et 1 allemand dans le campingcar, mais nous avons 3 filles que nous avons rencontres a Cairns et qui maintenant nous suivent dans leur propre voiture, 1 Autrichienne et 2 Chec !

Nous voyageons depuis 1 semaine maintenant et nous avons deja parcouru 1000km ! Nous nous arretons la ou bon nous semble, assez souvent en bord de mer, la combinaison ciel etoile+mer est pas mal, seul hic, il pleut !!!! Et il fait un peu froid, genre 28, on porte des vestes a manches longues… Et ce pendant encore quelques jours… Nous sommes aujourd’hui a Arly Beach et nous allons prendre le bateau pour les Whitsundays quand il fera beau !

 There it is, last stop, Australia ! The big island on the bottom right of your map… honestly I must say to you english people that building a colony out here wasn’t a good idea for us, I mean you guys built your cities with minimum 100km between each cities ! So we have to spend 6weeks of holidays there… while you’re freezing up there HAHAHA !

 So we were in Cairns on the 23rd and it took us about 2 days to find the 4th person, we post ads everywhere in town and then we had to interview people… Who’s your daddy ?

The first person was an american girl, really clean on herself, I mean by that that she must have spent 2 hours to find which T-shirt to wear and which glasses to put on her face ! I’m sure she can be a pretty good chearleader ! So we all found that it would not match, and I’m sure she have been scared of our beards ! So we had to find each other a reason to say that it would not be possible, haha we couldn’t say « hmm I’m sorry we wouldnt match ! » The 2nd guy was that alright that we chose him ! He’s name is Benjamin, like the German guy. the only « problem » is that he’s french and we wanted to be with people from different countries ! But it is ok now, we have 3 girls following us in their car, 1 Austrian and 2 Checs.

We are now travelling since about one week and we’ve done 1000km already ! We’re stoping wherever looks good for us ! It’s often on the beach, the combination of beach+sky full of stars is pretty good, only last problem, it is raining… and cold, like 28degrees so about 25 more than you guys in Europe hahaha ! We’re in Arly Beach right now and waiting for the sun to come to head to the Whitsundays Islands !

Bali I miss you :(

Et bien, on a encore passe pas mal de temps sans vous donner de nouvelles, en meme temps, on avait vraiment autre chose a faire et pas beaucoup de point d’acces a internet a Bali !

C’etait tout simplement genial,  on est descendu de l’avion et…. LE SOLEIL !!!! Il faisait beau et chaud, pas humide… fantastique !

En premier nous sommes restes a Kuta, station balneaire qui est remplie d’australiens… Un bon spot pour apprendre a faire du surf… ce qu’on a fait ! Bon… vous pouvez pas nous appeller Bryan et Chris les surfeurs, on arrive a peine a se lever et on se plaind plus des brulures que la planche cause a notre pauvre peau(bronzee) qu’autre chose ! Ah oui… petit detail, on est bronzee maintenant, a chaque fois que je me regarde dans la glace j’ai l’impression qu’un bel etranger s’est glisse dans la salle de bain avec moi mais non… ce n’est que mon reflet !

Nous sommes restes que 2 nuits a Kuta et puis nous sommes alle a Padang Bai faire de la plonge mais… c’etait beaucoup trop chere alors on a fait une petite balade a 3 en scooters. 3 ? Oui oui… un rosbif du nom de Shivone Richardson nous a rejoins pour notre sejour

Nous avions rien a faire alors… on est alle sur une toute petite ile du nom de Gili Trawangan histoire de s’eclater et de voir des tortues et des poissons de toutes les couleurs. Sur le reste du sejour, nous sommes alle a Ubud ou nous avons fait un tour de tout le centre de l’ile, volcans, baignades dans des sources d’eau froide, d’eau chaude, dans des bains royaux, rizières de couleur turquoises… Bali est fantastique ! Nous n’avons pu terminer notre séjour uniquement par aller en bord de mer pour admirer les dauphins au petit matin… Bali je t’aime.

Nous sommes maintenant a Cainrs en Australie ou tout coute beaucoup plus chere ! Genre un lit coute 15 dollars alors que une chambre double au vietnam coûtait 7dollars…. Et merde…

Nous avons fait amis amis avec un Allemand et nous avons loue un campingcar, nous attendons de trouver une 4eme personne pour nous diriger vers Sydney ou nous sommes attendu pour le 20 Decembre !

Again, it have been a long time since we gave any sign of life… But Bali is that beautiful that we couldnt spend any second on Internet !

Bali is already over But it was so good…. It is simple, we got off the plane and… TADAM ! SUNSHIIIINE ! It was hot, sunny, not humide at all…. It was so good !

We started by spending some days in Kuta, the capital of Australian people outside of Australia itself ! We tried surf… You cannot call us Bryan and Chris yet, we’re not surfers, we can basicly stand up on the board… The most thing we do is complaining about how hard the surf board burns our (tanned) skin. Yeah..,. tanned ! We are that tanned that each time i look in the mirror, I think that someone sneak inside the bathroom, but not… it’s just me…

We stayed only 2 nights in Kuta, then we headed to Padang Bai to do diving… but it was too expensive… so we headed to the Gili island to see some huge sea turtles, all-colored fishes… it was fantastic !

Then we went to Ubud and we shared at 3 a car + a guide to see Volcanos, cold and hot water springs, temples… And yes we were 3 ! We found a rosbif named Siobhan Richardson on the way at Kuta… Weird…

Bali is that crazy fantascifully beautiful good that we could only end the journey by watching dolphins in early morning just after the sun rised…

We’re now in Cairns in Australia were you spend 15dollars for a bed in a dorm… This is crazy if you think that in Vietnam for 7 dollars you have a room with 2 double beds….

I miss you Bali…

We’re renting now a campervan, we meat a german and we’re looking for a 4th person to join us to head south to Sydney where we hope to be for the 20th of december !

Saigon – Angkor (t)Wat – Saigon and goodbye vietnam !

One more thing done, we’ve done vietnam !

If you go to saaaaaaan fraaaaaaancisco… heu… Saigon, you have to go to the war museum, it is not « great » but really interesting, be prepared, some pictures at the first floor are really… strong ! Dead people, burnt babies… take a plastic bag just in case… But you’ll see things how they happened and I think it is needed ! Outside of the museum, saigon is nothing but a big city, not really interesting (I think). So we had nothing to do… we were bored, so we decided to go to see another wonderfull thing called Angkor Wat (temple) in Cambodia ! 12 hours bus they say…. they say…. it took us 19hours to go to Siem Reap… We’re going to be in the Guinness Book for the most hours spent in a bus… But we’ve seen some beautiful landscapes, a great colors everywhere !

Cambodian people are nice, really sociable and friendly. They gave us the wonderfull opportunity to drink beer with them in a Karaoke club ! But we were sad, we couldn’t enjoy the singing fully, we’re not fluent yet… So, the 2nd day at 7am, we went to see the Angkor wat ! It is just crazy ! It’s huuuuuuuuuge ! You have massive trees that gorwn on the rocks, its crazy… the only sad thing is that you always have an old fatass american tourist taking the pause in front of those trees and it is almost impossible to take a nice pic… I tried to scream « Hey look ! There is a Burger King overthere ! » But it didn’t work… Those people are not that stupid… If you guys know tricks that works on american people (and ozzies) please unlight me !

We’re now back in Saigon to take the plane to go to Jakarta, we’ll spend the night on a sit at the airport and wait from midnight to 10am to take another plane to go to Bali !!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay !

Bon le vietnam…. c’est fait !

Voici quelque chose que vous devez faire si vous allez a Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), vous devez visiter le musee des souvenirs de guerre, hormis les tanks et les hélicoptères, vous avez au rez-de-chausee une exposition de photos qui vous montre comment c’etait la guerre et les degats qu’on causes les ricains… Accrochez vous donc car c’est pas tres jolis a voir… cadavres, bebes brules et enfants pleurant en voyant leur pere capture, c’est horrible… mais il faut le voir je pense.

Hormis ca, Saigon est juste une ville, pas vraiment de chocs culturels ou de surprises… Donc on avait rien a faire, on s’ennuyait un peu, on est allé donc voir ailleurs si on y etait et ce choix judicieux nous a conduit au cambodge, plus précisément a Siem Reap pour voir le Angkor Wat, c’est un temple enorme, ca vous prend au moins 2 jours si vous voulez le visiter completement ! Vous avez des arbres enooooormes qui poussent sur les temples directement (ils se font pas chier…) avec des racines tout simplement gigantesques ! Le seul point noir c’est que si vous voulez prendre une jolie photo de ces arbres, il faut etre labas a 5h du mat, sinon vous avez tout le temps une vieille grosse americaine qui prend la pause… J’ai tente de crier « Hey regardez, ya un burgerkiiiiiiiing ! » Mais aucun effet, ils sont pas con les ricains…. Si vous connaissez des techniques pour les entourlouper, aidez nous !

Apres avoir partage quelques bieres et jus d’oranges coupes a la vodka, nous avons repris le bus pour Saigon, on va battre le record d’heures passes dans le bus, on doit etre a 90-100heures juste pour le vietnam ! Mais ce soir on a la classe, on prend l’avion direction bali et le soleeeeeeeeil !!!!!!!!!!!

Ninh Binh – Hue – Hoi An

(Bon, ca commence mal, je dois ecrire un article pour 3 villes…)

Alors heu… oui ! Ninh Binh, ca remonte au 26 Octobre quelque chose comme ca… Le Halong terrestre !

Nous sommes restes 2 jours dans cette ville, le premier abord a ete dur, il faisait moche, la ville est coupe par une nationale ou les viets conduisent comme des barbares ! Il faut en fait s’eloigner de la ville, ce que nous avons fait le lendemain et le jour d’apres ou il faisait super beau ! Le premier jour nous sommes alles dans le parc national voir une reserve de singes, d’arraignes et des arbres millenaires et je n’aurai qu’une chose a dire, un arbre millenaire et bien… c’est gros et grand ! Pas mal comme description (On a postule pour bosser au Lonely Planet hier) ?! Le parc etait brumeux c’etait parfait, on etait dans Jurassic Park !

Le lendemain nous avons loue un scooter, nous nous sommes rendu a l’ancienne cite de Hao Lu, avons essaye de trouver une autre ville pour finir perdu au milieu des rizieres, les viets nous regardaient en se demandant ce qu’on pouvait bien foutre ici… Nous aussi a vrai dire mais c’etait plutot marrant de rouler au milieu des canards, vaches et paysans (photos dans l’album)
Une nuit en bus plus tard, nous arrivons a Hue, nous visitons la cite interdite (interdite mon c**, on a achete le vigile avec 1euro et il nous a meme donne des tickets, blaireau !) ou il faut faire attention aux trous beants au risque de tomber et faire « HAAAAAAAAAAA« . Nous revenons a notre hotel et nous nous faisons alpaguer pour louer (encore) un scooter, au debut pas convaincus, nous finissons par louer 2 scooters et un guide et la, nous avons passe une journee merveilleuse, nous avons fait un tour de Hue et de ses alentours, anciens temples, pagodes, citadelles, produits locaux, nourriture locale… Merci a Tue, notre guide, de nous avoir fait passer une si belle journee. Notre journee s’est ponctuee par une sortie ou Antoine Eugene Andre Pilard (denoncez le aux flics) s’est charge de me la coller dans un bar pour mon anniv. Batard ! J’aurai ta peau !

Le reveil a ete un peu difficile mais nous avons pris notre bus a 8h du mat pour aller a Hoi An. Cette ville est geniale, la partie ancienne de la ville est preservee et premiere chose, personne ne klaxonne, ca fait du bien ! Ensuite l’architecture de la ville est vraiment jolie, la gastronomie et l’art vous poussent aussi a rester quelques jours vous relaxer, ce que nous avons fait !

Location de motos pour visiter My Son (un ancien temple), partager du temps avec nos Irlandais (encore eux !!) et Australiens, Hoi An a ete un reel bonheur !

Nous sommes maintenant a Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) nous devions nous arreter a Nah Thrang mais bon il pleuvait comme un troupeau de vaches qui pissent, c’est dire !

Ok so I’ve been writing to you guys since Catba, wow it’ll be long !

So about one week ago, we arrived in Ninh Binh, « the other Halong » which is not that beautiful when you’re in the city.

The town is splited by a massiv national road where the viets are driving huge trucks like fools ! It’s insane ! I’m sure that the viets make that much babies because a lot of people die on the road !

Anyway, you need to go out of the city to see the good things written in the lonely planet ! We went into a huuuuuuge parc with monkeys, spiders, super-sized centriped, and maaaaaaassive billions years old trees ! They are as huge as a big baguette (Private joke). The parc was really foggy, we were in Jurassic Park !!!

The second day, we rented a motobike to see the old historic city Hao Lu, we planed to go to another city, I can’t remember the name, but anyway, we’ve never found it and we finished into the rice fields (picture are in the album) for the end of the day, in the middle of nothing, the Viets were looking at us in a funny way « what the hell are you doing here ?! » We ended the day by having a local beer.

One night bus later we arrived in Hue, on the morning we went to the forbidden city (forbidden my arse, you pay 1$ and you’re in !)  which is really impressive and where you can fall into holes hidden in the grass and scream « HAAAAAAAAAAA » So we left the temple around 1pm and then… What ? Is Hue just that ?!

We went back to our hotel and the guy from the hotel proposed us to rent motorbike and to guide us… hmm another thing to buy… We were not that into it… but it was cheap so we tried ! And we made the right choice ! We had a fantastic tour around Hue, old temples, pagoda, good views and really good food ! We must thanks Tue, our guide ! Antoine decided then to end that day by killing me with alcohol in a pub for my birthday, thing that he did. Well done asshole and thank you for the headaches !

The morning after we arrived in Hoi An, a fantastic old, little and cute city with nobody honking all the time ! The architecture is really beautiful, good food, good art, we stopped there 3 days and 2 nights. Which is enough if you want to visit the old city, try the good food, visit the old temple My Son and share some time with the Iriiiiiiiiish ! Them again ! It must be tattooed Guinness on my forehead ! We shared some good time also with 2 ozzies and learnt that Water is called Wota in their country… weird people…

We’re now in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh), we were meant to stop by Nah Thrang but it was raining tigers and wolves (bigger than cats and dogs) so we left to Saigon ! We’re going to stay just 2days and then we’ll do a quick stop to cambodia !

Sapa, Cat ba and Co…

Bon aujourd’hui on commence en Francais !

Que de choses sont arrivees depuis le dernier article !
Alors la derniere etape c’etait…. le train ! Bon bah les sieges softs c’etait pas la mort, ca fait un peu mal au cul quand meme au bout de la 7eme heure…
Passons, nous sommes arrives a Sapa, petite ville de montagne qui ressemble pas mal a ce que l’on pourrait voir dans une station de basse altitude ! Sauf qu’ici les chalet ont un look netement plus asiatique… normal vous m’direz !
On est arrives vers 6-7h du matin, le soleil venait a peine de se lever et c’est dans le froid que nous nous sommes diriges vers le marche de Sapa ou poissons, poulets et autres cochons etaient entrain de se faire decouper pour etre ensuite vendu aux petits « restaurants » qui ne sont autre que l’assemblement d’une table (voir 2 si le chef a la classe) et de 3 bancs !
Ici pas d’occidentaux et surtout pas a cette heure ci ! On etait entoures de jeunes filles Hmong de 10 a 40ans qui nous regardaient en se disant « heu les gars… il n’y aura pas de pizza ici… »
Bref, l’endroit ne payait pas de mine et l’odeur etait un tant soit peu agressive mais ce que nous avons mange (un Pho au porc, si vous ne savez pas ce que c’est, google est votre ami) etait tout simplement délicieux, le chef super sympa, ce qui fait que nous y sommes retournes 3 fois par la suite !

Voila ca c’etait l’episode bouffe, Sapa on y etait pour autre chose tout de même, nous avons fait du trecking pendant 3 jours avec 2 nuits chez l’habitant, nous étions avec un guide dans un groupe de 5 personnes nous avions avec nous 2 irlandais et 1 ecossais et nous nous sommes vraiment bien marres avec eux ! En plus de ca nous avons marches a travers des rizieres, cascades, forets de bambous, nous avons rencontres beaucoup de locaux qui nous accueillaient avec un grand sourire, le tout ponctue par un temps magnifique et de l’alcool de riz le soir… On n’avait pas trop a se plaindre !

Nous avons ensuite quitte Sapa pour aller a Catba et visiter la baie d’halong ! Au programme nous avons eu environ 12h de bus…

Catba c’est bien mais juste pour prendre un bateau et aller dans la baie !
Nous avons fait du kayak dans des lagons, nous avons fait les marioles en sautant du toit du bateau, une bonne journee en soit ! Nous avons en plus retrouves nos amis Irlandais et Ecossais de Sapa ! Que dire de plus ?

Nous sommes maintenant a Ninh Binh qui se veut etre le Halong terrestre, nous allons donc voir demain encore d’autres falaises de calcaire qui sortent de nul part !

It’s been a long time….
Ok so last time we were about to take the train to Sapa and we didn’t knew if we’d survive to that… It was ok in fact, the soft seats aren’t that bad, your butty is just getting painful after the 7th hour…

7am, Sapa here I am !
What a beautiful landscape ! It looks like the stations in the Alpes but in low altitude ! Only difference, here the houses looks more asian than in France… yeah weird isn’t it ?!
When we arrived, we went straight to a place where it would be possible to eat ! we were staaaaaaaarving ! We found a market where they were cutting porks, chicken and huge fish, once it is done, they sell the pieces to the cookers which are just next !
The place doesn’t looks good really and it smells weird… But what we ate was really really good! We had the best Pho (if you don’t know what it is, google is your best friend!)! That good that we went there 3 times again! The guy gave us some free rice wine because we became regular ! Yay !

But we went to Sapa to do something else than eating (yeah yeah !) We went trecking for 3 days with 2nights sleeping at the inhabitants ! We hired a guide and we joined a group with 2 Irish and 1 Sco(t)ish ! We had a lot of fun with those guys, good weather, good food and rice wine ! We went then to Catba to visit the Halong Bay, it is about 12h bus+boat between Sapa and Catba island… pfff… I’m getting sick of buses…

Halong bay was just so nice, we did kayaking in a lagoon, we had good food (again) and a good jumping session from the top of the boat! A good day, we met 2 Austrians guys, we had fun and bonus ! We met the 2 Irish and the Sco(t)ish from Sapa again ! We had a greaaat night !

We’re now in Ninh Binh which is supposed to be the Halong bay from the land ! So we’re going to see some other picks coming out from the earth ! Sounds nice !

Good night Thailande et Good morning Vietnam !

Voila on est a Hanoi depuis 2 jours maintenant !

Alors comment vous decrire Hanoi… C’est une grosse ville, assez polluee, c’est moins le bordel qu’a Bangkok mais ca tient sa couche niveau bordel, comment dire… sur l’echelle de la bordelitude de 1 a 10 (10 etant un gros bordel, genre comme le sac d’une nana) je dirai que Hanoi est a 6. Si vous voulez traverser la rue, bah faut rentrer dans le tas et slalomer entre les centaines de scooters qui vont n’importe ou !
De beaux parcs, un joli lac dans la vieille ville qui devient encore plus beau la nuit avec toute les lumieres, un marche nocturne qui merite un petit detour, tout ca aurait ete mieux sans ces putains de klaxons ! Les viets sont des fous, ils klaxonnent tout le temps, mais vraiment tout le temps, et pour la moindre raison ils vous balancent un bon gros coup de klaxon dans les oreilles… assez enervant !

Nous partons ce soir pour Sapa au nord dans les montagnes, au programme 9h de train de nuit, mais sur un siege, pas en couchettes ! On arrive donc vers 5h du matin a destination… Encore une belle journee de transport !

On vous donnera des nouvelles de la bas, si on est pas noyes par le Typhon !

3rd day in Hanoi !

How to describe it… big city, poluated, a lot of people and motorcycles everywhere, sounds like bangkok for now but it is less a mess ! On the scale of « what a fucking mess it is » from 1 to 10 (10 is like the handbag of an English girl from Sussex), Hanoi get a 6 out of 10 ! If you want to cross the street, just jump in it and slalom between the thousand of scooters, bikes and cars ! Just slalom and don’t be scared !
Otherwise the city got some beautiful parcs, a very beautiful lake, which becomes even more beautiful in the night time with all the lights in the trees !

The city could be better without all those viet honking all the time ! ALL THE TIME ! And for nothing ! I’m getting crazy, it is so noisy you can’t imagine…

We’re leaving tonight for Sapa, in the mountains in Northern Vietnam ! we’ll take a train tonight at 8 for 9h train on a seat ! How great is that ?! Well it will make more stories to tell !

We’ll write that very soon if we’re not dead… yeah… there is a typhoon heading to nothern Vietnam… we’ll see !

Fin de Koh Phiphi, Koh Samui et Koh Phangan…

It’s been a while since we talked to each other. We’ve got a fiew stories to tell then…

Koh Phi Phi was definitly nice ! Great place to have fun, cute little island, maybe to little in fact ! We left Koh Phi Phi to Koh Phangan, but to do that we had to first take a boat from PhiPhi to krabi, then a bus from Krabi to Suratani and then another boat that deserve Koh Samui and Phangan, on the way we talked to a strange guy from Israel, I don’t say that he’s wierd because he’s from Israel, I just say that he is….. wierd ! He’s the kind of guy that dream about buying a yellow BMW with purple light on the sides and big wheels ! He suggested us to stop by Samui « great island, many things to do…. » So we stoped by Samui….

Bad choice ! I should have guess when he said « Yeah I know spain, I’ve been to Ibiza and spent 2000dollars in one week » That he wasn’t a good adviser… Koh Samui sucks ! It’s a big city, full of tourist, Mcdonalds, Burger Kings and stuff for foreigners… And it’s full of fat old guys walking hand to hand with whores…. « lot of things to do » I see what you mean…

Anyway we’re now on Phangan, in a hostel that got a Pool Party, good time, the main city haadrin is a bit wierd, like a deadbody waiting to be revived. It must be crazy full for the full moon, but we’re not going to celebrate it, tonight is halfmoon party, in the jungle ! People say that it is way better than the fullmoon which is a « party for 19-20 old english people, that start drinking at 7pm to collapse, fight and puke at midnight before the party had really started… »

Halfmoon starts after midnight and ends at 10Am, we need to take our boat at 7.30am to go back to bangkok… hope that we’ll make it…

Ca fait un bou de temps que l’on ne s’est pas parles !

Nous avons quittes Phiphi depuis maintenant 4jours, c’etait bien Phiphi, mignon, petit et chaleureux, nous on a aime ! Nous nous sommes diriges ensuite vers Koh Phangan, mais bon c’etait pas si simple, il faut prendre un bateau, puis un bus, puis un autre, puis un autre bateau qui faisait la liaison entre Suratani, Koh Samui et Phangan !

Sur le bateau nous avons parle a un mec bizarre, le genre de mec qui a pour objectif premier de s’offrir sa prochaine BMW coupe cabriole jaune fluo et interieur tigre blanc (s’il vous plait), il nous a dit « ouai je suis deja aller en espagne… a ibiza, et j’ai depense 2000dollars en une semaine.. » on aurait du s’arreter la, mais ensuite il a ajoute « Koh Samui ya plein de truc a faire… » Donc bah on a reflechi et on s’y est arrete pour un jour…

Mauvais choix ! Koh Samui c’est une pompe a touristes ! McDo, Burger King, bar a putes… plein de vieux anglais marchant main dans la main avec ces pauvres filles de charme… Si ma mere voyait ca…

Bref on est a Phangan maintenant dans un hotel qui organise des « Pool Party » on n’y voit des americains bourres parlant super fort et qui jettent des filles qui crient comme si c’etait la premiere fois que ca leur arrivait, mais ca va on se marre bien.

La on va visiter l’ile, on a loue un scooter, hier on a vu la plage ou ils celebrent la fullmoon, ca fait bizarre de voir ca vide, on imagine bien le bordel que ca doit etre, un barman anglais l’a decrit pour vous : » La fullmoon c’est just un hamas d’ados anglais, qui boivent comme des cons dans des sauts a 19h et qui s’evanouissent, se battent, vomissent, ou les 3, a minuit alors que la soiree n’a pas encore commence » ! La Halfmoon c’est dans la jungle et apparement on aura du vrai son, pas du commercial ! Le truc c’est que ca commence vers minuit et fini a 10h du mat… Nous on a notre bateau a 7h30 demain matin… vas-t-on y arriver ?
